Walmart is seeking a Principal Data Analyst to lead advanced analytics initiativesthat drive strategic business decisions. This role involves formulating complex
technical problems, identifying and validating data sources, and delivering
actionable insights through sophisticated data visualization and exploratory
analysis. The successful candidate will translate business requirements into data-
driven strategies, mentor team members, and collaborate across functions to
enhance data quality and management. This position requires expertise in
analytics, data strategy, and communication to influence stakeholders and
support continuous improvement aligned with Walmart’s business objectives.
What you'll do...
- Analyze complex business problems using advanced data analytics and automation techniques to identify root causes and recommend effective solutions.
- Articulate complex DQ rules based on the assets that were Identify
- Build agents that will automatically generate DQ rules or explain DQ failures to the Business.
- Work with the larger Data Stewardship community to fix DQ failures at the source.
- Translate business requirements into actionable data strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Develop and deliver compelling data visualizations and insights to influence stakeholders.
- Mentor team members on analytics methods, data quality standards, and visualization best practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to drive execution of data projects and continuous improvement efforts.
What you'll bring...
- Extensive experience in data analysis, data visualization, and exploratory data analysis using tools such as Python, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Strong knowledge of data quality management, data profiling, and data cleansing techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
- Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable data strategies and technology-focused solutions.
- Expertise in identifying and integrating multiple data sources, including SQL and NoSQL databases, to support business insights.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring associates and guiding data-driven decision-making aligned with business objectives.
- Proficiency in applying statistical methods and machine learning techniques to generate meaningful business impact.

The Data Quality team ensures data integrity across Walmart’s ecosystem through rigorous inline validations and post-load business checks. Leveraging advanced machine learning and anomaly detection, the team identifies irregularities in real-time across data pipelines. Their comprehensive certification and monitoring framework supports consistent data quality. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, the team drives process improvements and data governance initiatives that uphold high data standards. This enables informed, data-driven decision-making and supports business development efforts, ensuring reliable and accurate data is available to meet organizational goals.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
