We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor to join the POWDER DIVISION at our ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA location. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
PREAMBLE
Under the direction of the Plant Manager or Department Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing direct floor supervision to the maintenance Leads and mechanics in order to maintain efficient, reliable operation of the equipment, facility and physical systems of the plant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Develop, train and maintain a high performing maintenance team.
- Coordinate maintenance leads’ and associates’ daily work assignments.
- Maintain process/packaging equipment, facility’s buildings and grounds, and all physical manufacturing systems to GMP and corporate standards
- Identify opportunities, solutions and lead continuous improvement efforts for safety and plant maintenance
- Assure an effective and compliant Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.
- Assure necessary and accurate inventory of spare parts to maintain operational efficiency (optimal OEE)
- Coordinate maintenance projects with Planning, Manufacturing and Engineering.
- Assure effective support for the continuous improvement projects of the manufacturing teams
- Complete all work order requests in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Contact vendors to procure parts/ machinery/ etc.
- Track key metrics for the maintenance department including work order completion, turnaround time, emergency work orders, PM completion on time, effectiveness of repairs, etc.
- Process timecards for department associates
- Assist in the recruitment and training of new associates
- Ensures all associates receive proper training, such as GMP, SOP, Safety, and Operations. Communicates company objectives to associates. Monitor associate performance and provide coaching and training as required
- Provide guidance to department leads in improving OEE
- Adheres to company Health, Safety and Environmental policies. Identifies and reports unsafe conditions and behaviors and takes individual accountability addressing corrective actions
- Enables, participates and implements continuous improvement ideas
- Assist with equipment and facilities projects
- Participates in Site Focused Improvement events
Communicates/conducts performance appraisals, both formal and informal
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:
Assist Plant Manager with any other projects, as needed.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Technical degree preferred (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree suggested).
- At least 5 years’ experience with equipment and facilities maintenance
- Demonstrated Leadership experience within a manufacturing maintenance team environment
- Experience working in a GMP, food, pharmaceutical or nutritional supplement regulated plant
- Project leadership roles for equipment and facilities improvements
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must have knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical principles, must be familiar with parts inventory program, must be familiar with preventive maintenance program, must have previous supervisory experience in a maintenance department; industry experience preferred.
Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written), must be computer literate, must be able to supervise a multi-shift operation; must be able to interface with different levels of associates.
