Job Title: ELEMENTARY HEAD COOK - WEALTHY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Lead the daily operations of the elementary school cafeteria, including food preparation and service, sanitation, cashiering, ordering and inventory, record keeping, and supervision of the Point-of-Sale paraeducator. This role creates a warm and welcoming environment for students and staff while maintaining safe and efficient operations, utilizing required technology systems, and ensuring all cafeteria activities run smoothly and professionally.
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate a cash register and complete necessary technology tasks
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to repeatedly bend, squat, climb, and reach
- ServSafe Certification or willingness and ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
Essential Functions:
- Ability to lead the daily food service operations and all other related food service activities at the cafeteria
- Ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and vendors
- Ability to collaborate with the Food Service Director on menu creation, reporting, and food service program implementation and improvements
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening skills)
- Ability to be enthusiastic, friendly, flexible, and a team player
- Ability to learn and consistently apply district and school policies and procedures
- Experience and knowledge in food service preparation, sanitation, and food service equipment
- Ability to take inventory and order supplies as well as keep accurate records of food production, cash receipts, and related information
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness and ability to maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
- Ability to complete other duties as assigned
Location: Wealthy Elementary
Rate: Per the Support Staff Contract, Food Service Classification, Head Cook
Hours: Approximately 5.9 hours/day, 7:10 a.m. -1:00 p.m., Monday - Friday (on full school days)
Start Date: August 2026 (with May 2026 training opportunity as mutually agreed)
