Located
in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college,
offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in
Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal
candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire and
ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. The candidate is expected to commit to
excellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professional
development. Adjunct faculty are
expected to deliver course materials in a learner-centered environment conductive
to engaging students in the learning process. The faculty member in this
position communicates consistently and effectively with students, faculty and
administrators, and responds to communications within a 24 hour period. The
faculty is responsible for managing this course through timely grading of
assignments, providing substantial student feedback with assignments, and
submission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.
MassBay
Community College is seeking a qualified part-time Central Processing Clinical
Instructor for the current and future semesters. This individual provides
continuity for the clinical program. They ensure that students and our
healthcare partners have a point of contact for clinical matters, that students
maintain their clinical records, progress clinically, and adhere to college and
hospital protocols. This clinical instructor conducts scheduled clinical visits
for students participating in the clinical program. This person ensures the
program operates in accordance with the MassBay curriculum for Central Sterile
Processing (CPT) programs and that students have the necessary documentation to
be in the clinical environment. This position requires working closely with
both the Surgical Services program director and faculty to help the CPT program
run efficiently. The person in this role will instruct students in the lab,
providing them with opportunities to connect with learners and coordinate their
clinical assignments. The clinical instructor must have experience and
certification in either CPT or Surgical Technology, communicate effectively,
assess students objectively, and work as part of a team.

(Summer, Fall, Spring)-visit students weekly in clinic – M,T,W,R -variable
schedule.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide students with a structured approach to organize paperwork for their attendance, clinical, and other required clinical documents;
- Visit students during clinicals and check in with preceptors about their progress;
- Communicate effectively and promptly with program officials on students’ academic progress and needs;
- Participate in evaluating courses and program learning outcomes;
- Track student progress, contribute to the accreditation/compliance reporting, and annually/ regularly assess the program;
- Teach in lecture and lab, as needed;
- Adhere to established college, program, and hospital protocols and procedures, including the college calendar and deadlines;
- Stay current about developments in the profession on the adjunct’s own time;
- Use the College’s technology efficiently to effectively teach, assess, and communicate with students;
- Carry out additional responsibilities as delegated by the Dean or their representative;
- Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities and Duties Outside of
Teaching the Course:
As a clinical instructor, you serve as the Program Organizer, helping implement the program and supporting information sessions. You act as a liaison between clinical partners and the college, assisting with resolving student concerns. In collaboration with admissions and advising, you communicate with prospective students and participate in information sessions and orientations for new students. You are responsible for reporting program progress and outcomes between semesters and over the summer. While the program organizer position is based in Framingham, it requires travel to establish and maintain clinical sites, as well as occasional on-campus presence with advanced notice. Much of the work can be done remotely. The program organizer role offers compensation of $35 per hour for up to 8 hours per week, though it typically requires 4–6 hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of four (4) years of recent work experience in a CPT or Surgical Technology role or a relevant combination of both or something comparable;
- Exemplary interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
- Organized and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
- Bachelor’s degree preferred;
- Evidence of a career that includes a strong work ethic with a proven track record of project completion, multitasking, and the ability to handle high-pressure environments;

Salary Range: $1,397 - $1,585 per DCE Credit
