Job Description

Schaeffler is a dynamic global technology company and its success has been a result of its

entrepreneurial spirit and long history of private ownership. As a partner to all of the major automobile manufacturers, as well as key players in the aerospace and industrial sectors, we offer you many development opportunities.

General Information

Join a cross‑functional hardware test team to plan, build, and execute automated and manual tests for electronic control units and related hardware. You will instrument devices under test, develop clear test specifications, run validation on bench equipment, automate data collection/reporting, and document results. High‑Voltage Lab safety training and passing the safety test are required before lab access.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute hardware functional, electrical, and interface tests for current projects.

  • Develop test specifications and procedures with clear pass/fail criteria and requirement traceability.

  • Set up and operate lab instruments: oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, signal generators.

  • Build or modify simple fixtures and wiring harnesses; perform basic rework and connector crimping.

  • Control instruments and automate data capture using C or Python (e.g., VISA/SCPI or vendor SDKs).

  • Create and maintain automated test sequences in `NI TestStand` focused on hardware validation.

  • Generate automated reports from test data (e.g., XML/CSV parsing, scripts, templates) and maintain results repositories.

  • Use CAN communication for ECU/TCU interaction; support firmware flashing in manufacturing/operations flows.

  • Participate in reviews (test plans, procedures, and any supporting scripts); follow version control and documentation standards.

  • Observe lab safety practices; maintain orderly, repeatable test setups and calibration records.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and business needs.

Your Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related).

  • Hands‑on skills with electronics and microcontrollers; able to read schematics and datasheets.

  • Comfortable with common bench equipment (oscilloscope, DMM, power supply, electronic load).
