Job Description

Admissions Assistant - Part Time (Maximum 200 hours)

Admissions Season: August 2026 through December 2026; as needed in Spring 2027

Scheduled Hours: Up to 10 per week during season; maximum 22 hours per week as needed

Hourly Pay: Up to $35 - $38 per hour maximum DOE

Location: On Campus in Admissions Office

Admissions Assistant Position Overview


The Bishop O’Dowd High School Admissions team is seeking a part time seasonal admissions assistant for the 2026 - 2027 school year. This role supports the Admissions Office in welcoming prospective students and families to the O’Dowd community. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and a committed ambassador to the school.


Admissions Assistant Key Responsibilities

  • Campus tour guide 

    • lead engaging tours for prospective students and their families. 

    • Represent the school’s mission, values, and culture with enthusiasm and professionalism

  • Student - Family Matching

    • Connect prospective families with current O’Dowd students who share similar interests, backgrounds, or academic goals

    • Facilitate meaningful conversations to help families make informed enrollment decisions

  • Volunteer Sign Up Genius

    • Assist with office preparation ahead of large scale admissions events and school visits.

    • Help with materials, logistics, and greeting prospective families on event days

  • Staff Coverage

    • Fill in for admissions office staff during absences, ensuring uninterrupted service for prospective families and smooth office operations


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage positively with prospective students, families, staff, and visitors.

  • Demonstrated customer service experience and the ability to represent Bishop O’Dowd High School in a welcoming and professional manner.

  • Ability to speak confidently in front of small groups and lead campus tours effectively.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and event-related responsibilities.

  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality when appropriate.

  • Basic proficiency with Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar) and willingness to learn scheduling or volunteer coordination platforms such as Sign-Up Genius.

  • Dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling needs, including occasional evening or weekend admissions events.

  • Ability to walk throughout campus for extended periods during tours and events.

  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 lbs. as needed for admissions events or office support.

  • Commitment to supporting the mission, values, and Catholic identity of Bishop O’Dowd High School.
