Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

 

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

 

About the Role:

The General Stream at Northern Health offers a wide range of experience including rotations in mental health, surgery, medicine, emergency, sub-acute, and women’s and children’s.

 

The General year is a fantastic experience for those looking to delve into a broad range of rotations across a 4-term clinical year. For those still deciding what they want in their career, the breadth of opportunity is a great benefit, with the chance to experience both medical and surgical rotations.

  • Admitting Medical Team
  • Aged Care/GEM
  • Cardiology
  • Emergency Adult
  • Emergency Paediatrics
  • Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery
  • General Medicine

  • Hospital in the Home Registrar
  • Intensive Care Unit (Goulburn Valley)
  • Mental Health (Inpatient & Community)
  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology
  • Day Oncology/SURC
  • Haem/Onc Infusion Centre

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Must have satisfactorily completed at least two years of postgraduate hospital experience in Australia, New Zealand, or a recognised equivalent.
  • Medical registration (general or provisional) with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Must be a holder of a relevant employment visa if not an Australian resident.
