Personal Support Specialist (PSS) / CNA – In-Home Care | Aroostook County

Starting at $18.31/hour (with certification) + Weekend & Holiday Pay Differentials

The Aroostook Agency on Aging is now hiring Personal Support Specialists (PSS) (also accepting those with CNA) to provide in-home care to older adults and individuals with disabilities across Caribou, Presque Isle, Southern Aroostook, St. John Valley and surrounding communities.

Whether you are experienced or just starting out, we offer paid training, flexible hours, and meaningful work that truly impacts lives.

💰 Pay & Bonuses

  • $18.31/hour starting pay (with PSS/CNA certification)
  • Weekend & holiday pay differentials
  • $500 bonus for certified PSS/CNA (after 6 months, working 20+ hrs/week)
  • $250 bonus if we pay for your PSS certification (after completion + 6 months employment)

🧡 What You’ll Do

As a PSS/CNA, you will provide essential in-home support based on each client’s individualized care plan. Duties may include:

  • Personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting)
  • Mobility assistance and transfers
  • Meal preparation and feeding assistance
  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Grocery shopping and errands

What We’re Looking For

  • Certified PSS or CNA OR we will pay for you to complete the PSS training
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and able to work independently
  • Compassion for older adults and individuals with disabilities
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in a variety of home environments

📍 Work Environment

  • Work takes place in clients’ homes throughout Aroostook County
  • Travel required
  • Work in varying home conditions and weather
