Patient Services Representative

Key Responsibilities:  

Essential Functions

 

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Patient Services Representative is responsible for serving, greeting, scheduling, maintaining records and accounts for patients.

 

    Answers telephone by identifying person answering and assisting callers in a pleasant manner.

    Screening, prioritizing, and returning patient calls according to office procedure.

    Schedules appointments according to office procedure and to patient’s need

    Upon checking in a patient, acquires all necessary information (registration forms, insurance card copies, responsible party’s information, etc.) prior to physician seeing patient.

    Accurately performs data entry on computer system for Billing and posting payment and gathering other necessary information.

    Processes incoming and outgoing mail, records requests, patient documentation, etc.  based on office procedure

    Ensure smooth patient flow throughout the office by assisting in other areas when needed or as requested.

    Always maintains patient confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines.

    Communicates effectively by telephone and to the patient at his/her level of understanding.

    Promotes positive public relations to patients, visitors, families, physicians, and others.

    Physical appearance and conduct are consistent with acceptable professional ethics and CPC standards.

    Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes, and making suggestions for improvement.

    Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications for Success:

Education and Experience Requirements

 

Education: High School graduate or GED required.

 

Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support, ABROE or other certification.

 

Experience:   Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Office experience. 

 

  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records
  • Ability to type
  • Ability to identify emergent medical situations
  • Demonstrate positive customer service skills
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment, multi-tasking

Work Setting: Well-lit medical office environment

 

Job Type: Full-Time

 

Schedule: Weekdays and ability to work flexible and extended hours, as needed.

 

Compensation: Market competitive base pay, commensurate with education and experience.
