Title: Custodian II
Bargaining Unit/Salary Level: MSEA Support Services, Range 7- $20.38
Responsibilities: Under general supervision, performs custodial care of campus buildings and equipment, where and as directed. Maintenance and service work including sweeping, cleaning, shoveling snow, raking leaves, and minor maintenance repairs in and around campus buildings. Work may include lead role responsibilities in the custodial care of campus buildings and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma/GED preferred. One-year general cleaning skills, floor care experience, and machine utilization experience. Valid Maine Driver's license required.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Duties require knowledge of building cleaning practices, methods, and equipment, including sanitation methods and techniques used in custodial work. Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written directions, and to understand and adhere to college policies, procedures, equipment specifications, established work schedules and safety/health guidelines. Must have the knowledge, skill and ability to strip, wash, wax and buff floors. Must have the knowledge, skill and ability to use rotary buffers, carpet extractors, wet vacs, and auto scrubbers. Sufficient physical strength to perform a variety of routine manual tasks in the care, cleaning and general maintenance of campus buildings and equipment is essential in performing the duties of this job.
