Job Purpose 

Assist Project Managers and Project Directors in daily project-related activities. Perform professional and technical tasks ranging from inspections, reporting, plan preparation and reviews. This includes construction administration tasks and demonstrates increasing levels of autonomy. Provide guidance to entry level employees in m2e’s standard operating procedures and protocols.


Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Prepares drawings, specifications, cost estimates, project schedules, and other work for accuracy, presentation and conformance with established construction/engineering practices and applicable codes and standards in preparation for issuance to client. 
  • Prepare agendas and meeting minutes for construction and/or client meetings. 
  • Assist Project Manager/Project Engineer in preparing presentations, construction documents, and reports in conformance with established m2e construction/engineering practices, and applicable codes and standards. 
  • Performs a variety of project activities including, but not limited to, preparation and review of construction contracts; conduct pre-construction conferences; approval of time schedules; review and approve pay requests; evaluate and approve change orders; solve construction problems; perform final inspection and project close out duties. 
  • Travel to work sites of assigned engineering projects; note work progress and possible problem areas; report findings to supervisory staff as necessary; resolve project problems by reviewing and commenting on proposed modifications of design, construction change orders, and related methods. 
  • Attend and serve as staff/representative for pre-design, pre-bid, and pre-construction meetings related to assigned projects. 
  • Strictly adhere to the office standards, policies, and project schedules. Inform project manager and/or supervisor in a timely manner of any conflicts/issues that relate to his/her work. 
  • Organize project files; upload inspection photographs and data. 
  •  Enter time accurately daily and complete assigned projects on budget. 
  • Learning is a required assignment for all employees. 

Requirements

Professional Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university or documented equivalent combination of education and professional experience in a related engineering field.

· Possession of a registration as an Engineer Intern (EI) preferred.

· Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation required.


Minimum Experience

· 2-5 years of post-degree work experience, which must have involved construction, design, inspection or estimating.

· 1+ year of forensic engineering is preferred.
