Effingham Elementary School has an exciting opening in our Special Education department!  We are seeking a special educator to work with students in grades K-6. The position is responsible for delivering and coordinating special education services based on the GWRSD curriculum and student needs, providing small group and individual supports for identified students,  maintaining communication with families, teachers and administrators on specific student needs, and participating with the school leadership team and student data team.  Preferred candidates will be familiar with Responsive Classroom practices,  social emotional development of elementary students, and positive behavioral supports.

As a member of the professional staff of Governor Wentworth, the candidate is required to: 

• Hold a current elementary special educator certificate or statement of eligibility, issued by the state of New Hampshire.
• Collaborate with district departments and school teams.  
• Be flexible in work schedules and attend appropriate student activities and events.
• Attend and participate in district and school based professional development sessions and teams.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of identified students to help them attain ideal levels.
• Have the ability to relate to and teach students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for your role and content.
