Fenner Dunlop is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Maintenance Engineer at our manufacturing facility in Lavonia, Georgia.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Development
• Lead and develop maintenance technicians, engineers, and personnel to drive performance and accountability.
• Establish clear expectations for safety, quality, communication, urgency, and follow-through.
• Assign and prioritize daily maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion.
• Monitor maintenance performance, response times, and completion of work, addressing gaps as needed.
• Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to support team development.
• Foster a collaborative, solution-oriented team environment supporting plant operations.
Reliability and Preventive Maintenance
• Develop and improve preventive, predictive, and reliability-based maintenance programs.
• Drive initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime, repeat failures, and production interruptions.
• Analyze equipment history, downtime trends, SCADA data, and maintenance costs to identify root causes and improvements.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Support reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), condition-based monitoring, and asset lifecycle improvements.
• Ensure all preventive maintenance tasks are completed on time and documented.
• Recommend improvements to equipment, processes, and maintenance practices to enhance safety, uptime, and performance.
Downtime Planning and Supply Chain Coordination
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to align with production schedules and minimize disruption.
• Utilize CMMS to manage work orders, track downtime, and support maintenance planning.
• Ensure accurate documentation of uptime, downtime, labor, and maintenance activity for reporting.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and supply chain to ensure availability of parts, materials, and resources.
• Define equipment and spare parts requirements and support procurement, inventory, and vendor coordination.
• Lead planning and execution of maintenance downtime, including repairs, shutdowns, and project work.
Safety, Quality, and Compliance
• Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities comply with OSHA regulations, company policies, and standards.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, including lockout/tagout, hazard communication, and PPE.
• Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Ensure work meets quality standards, ISO requirements, and regulatory expectations.
• Maintain accurate documentation within CMMS and engineering systems.
• Ensure contractors, vendors, and internal teams adhere to safety and compliance requirements.
Technical Support, Engineering & Continuous Improvement
• Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Lead engineering, reliability, and capital projects from concept through implementation.
• Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and coordinate resources.
• Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, validation, and follow-up.
• Maintain engineering documentation, equipment standards, and technical records.
• Leverage SCADA and operational data to improve performance, process stability, and efficiency.
• Prepare and communicate reports on reliability, downtime trends, and project status.
Additional Responsibilities
• Collaborate with leadership to achieve operational and business objectives while demonstrating accountability, communication, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
What You’ll Need
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive maintenance, reliability, engineering, or plant operations experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience overseeing maintenance employees, technicians, plant engineers, skilled trades, or other technical employees preferred.
• Experience leading maintenance teams in a production environment with responsibility for equipment uptime, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, downtime reduction, condition-based monitoring, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial equipment systems.
• Experience reviewing drawings, technical documentation, equipment specifications, as-built drawings, and engineering standards preferred.
• Strong system, computer, data analysis, and reporting capabilities required.
• Experience reviewing and using SCADA information, equipment data, production data, dashboards, or other operational technology systems to support decisions preferred.
