Job Summary:


As a Purchase Engineer, you will drive the end-to-end procurement process, from converting purchase requisitions (PR) to managing purchase orders (PO), with a core focus on casting, machining, bar conversion and fabrication categories. Your primary objective is to maintain operational efficiency by ensuring 100% Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) and high-quality standards. You will be responsible for aggressive cost negotiations, suppliers’ management also for seamless management of goods receipt processes and ensuring payments. Experience on bought out parts (eg; motor, gear boxes, bearing, filters etc.,) preferred


 


Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for PR to PO conversion and tracking PO s to ensure Timely delivery.

  • Responsible for on-time delivery of castings & machining, bar conversion, Fabrication and subcontract process in meeting production schedule

  • Ensure supplier OTD and Quality rating to meet departmental objectives to keep inventory intact

  • Development of new components as required and negotiation with suppliers for delivery lead time and right pricing for regular supplies

  • Monitoring commodity / market trends to arrive at the price corrections

  • To identify alternative suppliers / process to arrive at better pricing and deliveries

  • Responsible for end-to-end transactions till part acceptance and payment

  • Engaging with the right OEMs / dealers in arriving at the right price and meeting the required delivery with clear understanding of the spec and its adherence


 


Basic Qualification:



  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering (preferably FT)

  • 6 years of experience in manufacturing Industry


 


Key competencies:



  • Manufacturing process and costing knowledge - especially in casting / machining, bar conversion, and Fabrication; with basic understanding on the proprietary parts

  • Experience in various engineering materials and market pricings

  • Effective communication with suppliers towards the achievement of business goals

  • Proficiency in MS office / ERP tools.
