- Valid Texas teacher’s certificate, Diagnostician Certification, or such other certificate, licenses, or credentials as may be required by the State Board for Educator Certification for this position.

- Assume responsibility for the Full and Individual Evaluation of referred students and three-year re-evaluation of students with disabilities on assigned campuses.
- Assume full responsibility for the accuracy of eSTAR reports incorporated into the Superintendent’s annual report.
- Assume responsibility for the content, organization, and confidentiality of state eligibility folders.
- Serve as the chairperson of the Admission, Review, and Dismissal/Individual Educational Plan (ARD/IEP) Committees to determine the most appropriate placement and programming of individual students with disabilities.
- Assume responsibility for the finalization and implementation of the IEP for each student in the special education program.
- Assume responsibility with instructional staff members for the continuous evaluation of the effectiveness of individual education programs.
- Assume responsibility for reporting the recommendations derived from the ARD/IEP Committee to the teachers who are to receive an individual student with disabilities.
- Provide consultation to those individuals responsible for providing related services to students with disabilities.
- Provide consultation and support to staff members and parents of students receiving special education services.
- Attend Special Education support staff meetings and other meetings as scheduled.
- Interpret the philosophy and rationale of the special education services within the Carrollton-Farmers Branch I.S. D. to the school and the community.
- Seek ways to increase professional growth and development.
- Perform all other duties as deemed necessary by the Superintendent or designee.
- Participate in the selection of assessment materials and equipment
- Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of the assessment program and make changes based on findings.
- Compile, Maintain, and file reports, records, and other documents as required.
- Comply with policies by federal and state law, state Board of Education rule, and local board policy. Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations.

Primary Purpose:
To keep schools in compliance with federal and state regulations as demonstrated by assessment, record keeping, and chairing committees.
