The Role and Responsibilities

EnerMech is seeking an experienced and reliable Diesel Fitter to join our Gladstone-based workshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing diesel-powered equipment and heavy mechanical assets to ensure they are safe, compliant, and ready for mobilisation. You will also manage ordering the required parts and consumables to support maintenance and repair activities.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, repair and overhaul diesel engines, compressors, generators, pumps, hydraulic systems, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections (pre-mobilisation checks, function tests, routine servicing).
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs and asset documentation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical faults and complete repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
  • Identify, source and order required parts, components and consumables for maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist with equipment mobilisation/demobilisation, workshop operations (loading/unloading), stock control, and general workshop housekeeping.
  • Comply with all HSEQ, safety procedures, risk assessments, JSA/SWMS, and ensure safe work practices at all times.
  • Liaise with supervisors, project coordinators and technicians to prioritise maintenance tasks and align equipment readiness with project schedules.
