As a Finance Intern at Gigamon, you will support our Finance team in core activities such as financial analysis, budgeting support, and reporting. You will work closely with finance professionals to help maintain accurate financial records, prepare key reports, and analyze data that informs business decisions. In this role, you will gain exposure to the financial operations of a global technology company and learn how data-driven insights support strategic planning and growth. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects.
What you’ll do:
- Assist with preparing, updating, and analyzing financial reports, including monthly and quarterly management reporting.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by collecting data, updating financial models, and validating assumptions.
- Help analyze variances between actuals, forecasts, and budgets, and summarize key findings for the Finance team.
- Perform data entry, reconciliations, and basic checks to help maintain accurate and complete financial records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather financial data and support ad hoc analysis and presentations.
- Contribute to process-improvement initiatives by documenting workflows and recommending efficiencies where appropriate.
What you’ve done:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Completed coursework in financial accounting, managerial accounting, corporate finance, or related subjects.
- Gained experience working with spreadsheets and basic financial models, including use of formulas and functions.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint or similar productivity tools.
- Communicated clearly in written and verbal formats, ideally through class projects, presentations, or prior internships.
- Shown the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects with attention to detail and accuracy.
