    Reports to                      Principal, Assistant Principal

     

    Essential Performance Responsibilities

    • Help students and others develop a range of options for intervention in specific situations and scenarios
    • Fosters a peer culture ethos that motivates everyone to get involved in challenging and interrupting all forms of abuse, and helping to create a climate in which abusive attitudes, beliefs and behaviors are seen as unacceptable, uncool and unwelcome.
    • Helps people of all ages and backgrounds develop the skills to become leaders and mentors to others on the issues of sexual assault and relationship abuse prevention.
    • Organizes, implements, and evaluates MVP activities. Promotes healthy relationships and leadership in school activities as vital aspects of the district's educational mission. Keeps the principal informed about emerging issues.
    • Communicates program objectives to encourage student involvement (e.g., scholastic eligibility, selection criteria, program activities, etc.).
    • Oversees and maintains the integrity of the mentor selection process. Ensures that nominated students meet all prerequisite qualifications.
    • Coordinates mentor training (e.g., date, time, location, speakers, etc.).
    • Provides guidance, communicates high expectations, and shows an active interest in student progress.
    • Promotes positive relationships as an important priority for all students.
    • Maintains high standards and upholds the student conduct code.
    • Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
    • Maintains accurate records and submits reports on time.
    • Promotes favorable recognition of program participants.

    Physical Requirements
