Job Description

Position Summary 

The Construction Lead is responsible for overseeing construction activities within controlled and contamination-sensitive environments, ensuring all work is executed safely, compliantly, and without compromising live operations. This role partners closely with Facilities, Operations, Quality, Safety, and external contractors to manage construction projects in GMP-regulated, cleanroom, advanced manufacturing, data center, and other mission-critical environments. 

The ideal candidate has experience leading construction in live or near-live environments and understands that contamination control, documentation, and adherence to protocol are as critical as schedule and cost. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and coordinate construction activities in controlled environments, Construction including GMP facilities, cleanrooms, data centers, and other mission-critical sites 

  • Enforce contamination control protocols, cleanroom or controlled-environment behaviors, gowning requirements, and site-specific SOPs 

  • Coordinate construction sequencing to minimize contamination risk and operational disruption 

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for construction crews, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders 

  • Maintain stop-work authority when contamination, safety, or compliance risks are identified 

  • Conduct pre-task planning, job hazard analyses (JHA), and contamination risk assessments 

  • Monitor subcontractor performance and enforce compliance with safety, quality, and contamination standards 

  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, site safety requirements, and permit-to-work systems 

  • Maintain accurate documentation including work permits, inspections, deviations, and corrective actions 

  • Support post-construction cleaning, commissioning readiness, and turnover to operations 

  • Participate in client walk-throughs, audits, and readiness reviews as required
