    Position:Full-Time Cook
    (7 hours daily)
    To Whom Responsible:Food Service Director 
    For Whom/What Responsible:           Cafeteria duties as assigned by the Food Manager. 
    Qualifications:Degree: High School diploma preferred. 
    Preferred Experience:Two years of related kitchen experience. Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe. 
    Primary Responsibilities:Assisting with the day to day operations of a kitchen. 


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    1. Responsible for all bakery foods as needed for breakfast, lunch and catering.
    2. Responsibilities Daily:
      1. Wipe all counters with sanitizing solution first thing in the morning.
      2. Help with breakfast as needed.
      3. Clean own pots/pans, carts, work table and sweep work area before serving.
      4. Prepare for next day.
      5. Check that all items necessary for next days use are available, and reporting to manager if not.
      6. Set up hot food on line 1 for serving.
    3. Responsibilities during serving:
      • Serve and refill as needed on line 1.
      • Help where needed as time permits.
    4. Responsibilities after serving:
      1. Remove all food from line 1.
      2. Put away all bakery foods deciding with manger use tomorrow or freeze for future use, adhering to the recommendations set by the state department of health.
      3. Help where needed.
    5. Responsible for following cleaning schedule as written by manager.
    6. Observe all policies in food service handbook.
    7. Be at work regularly and at scheduled time.
    8. Responsible for calling manager the day before if not able to be at work the following day.
    9. Daily hours are subject to change based on meal participation.
    10. Adheres to all aspects of safety and sanitation as recommended by the state department of health.
    11. Displays a courteous, cooperative, professional and supportive attitude at all times with students, teachers, co-associates and management.
    12. Helps with special activities as needed.
    13. All job responsibilities are subject to change or redirection as need by the Kitchen Manager or Food Service Director.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

    Part time food service staff are employed for 180 days.  Compensation is according to the non-certified salary schedule and based upon position category, experience, and years of service.  Non-certified benefits are offered according to full versus part time status, and explained in the district's benefit brochure.
     

    EVALUATION

    Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Food Manager and the Food Service Director in accordance with board policies of the Warrensburg R-VI School District.
