The YMCA Sports Volunteer supports youth and community sports programs by helping create a positive, safe, and encouraging environment for participants. Volunteers assist with practices, games, and program activities while promoting the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist families and program staff with organizing and leading sports activities


• Help supervise participants during practices, games, and events


• Encourage teamwork, good sportsmanship, and positive behavior


• Support skill development through drills, demonstrations, and encouragement


• Help set up and take down equipment before and after activities


• Ensure participant safety by following YMCA policies and procedures


• Serve as a positive role model for youth participants


• Communicate respectfully with participants, parents, and YMCA staff
