Cogito Innovations is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with strong systems-level thinking and demonstrated technical and team management experience. In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for designing and integrating complex systems, coordinating across engineering disciplines, and guiding project execution from concept to completion.

What You’ll Do
- Lead system architecture, design, and integration efforts across diverse engineering domains.
- Manage engineering teams or sub-teams by setting goals, allocating resources, and providing technical direction.
- Define system-level requirements, develop interface specifications, and drive the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, and test engineers to ensure aligned, robust system performance.
- Oversee project schedules, technical deliverables, and cross-functional coordination.
- Author and present high-quality technical documentation and reviews for stakeholders.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering and integration.
- 2+ years of engineering management or team leadership experience, including tasking, oversight, and mentoring.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and ensure delivery of complex technical solutions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Bonus Points For
- Experience leading systems through full lifecycle development (requirements, design, integration, testing).
- Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, SPICE, or system modeling software.
- Background in fast-paced, R&D-oriented environments.
- Active or eligible security clearance (not required).
