Description

White Oak/NHC of Charleston is looking for a part time weekend day shift (Saturday and Sunday) to be on site for general maintenance and repair. Hours can be somewhat flexible. Experience with painting, electrical and plumbing helpful. Must have a valid Driver's License.

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance



WORK AREA: Entire facility and grounds



WORKING CONDITIONS: Stands, walks inside and outside in all weather. Stoops, kneels, bends, climbs, depending on job. May have to work in awkward positions. Subject to safety issues, i.e., burns, cuts and falls. Susceptible to lifting and moving.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Responsible for any painting, plastering, refinishing, carpentering, or any similar work that may need to be done.

  • Responsible for any duties to do with electricity, if capable and trained to do so, and if the job does not require the services of a trained electrician.

  • Responsible for the care and use of supplies and maintenance of equipment used in performing duties.

  • Keeps maintenance room neat and orderly.

  • Runs errands concerning maintenance or facility related needs.

  • Checks wheelchairs, geriatric chairs, lights, side rails, hand rails, heating and air conditioning units on routine basis.

  • Keeps parking lot and grounds free of litter and debris.

  • Keeps walkway free of debris and ice or snow in inclement weather.

  • Hang pictures.

  • Completes a preventative checklist daily and weekly.

  • Changes light bulbs, filters, etc. as needed.

  • Responsible for plumbing repairs unless plumber needed.

  • Reports safety hazards promptly.

  • Performs any service which is a reasonable request of the Supervisor.
