    Summer Program 2026

     

    Position: Extended School Year Speech and Language Pathologist 
    Position Reports to:Education Director or Designee

     

    Job Description:The Summer School Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for supporting maintenance of IEP goals for students eligible for the Extended School Year program offered by TrueNorth Educational Cooperative.

     

    Critical Job Functions:

     

    • Maintain a safe and structured classroom environment as set up by the classroom teacher.
    • Review IEP to learn what IEP goals will be maintained throughout ESY and implement training and instruction based on those specific goals.
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to schedule speech minutes, groups, and activities that best address all students' speech/language goals.
    • Take weekly data to show progress/regression of student IEP goals.
    • Notify and work with the Director or Intervention Specialist if students are regressing in goals, in comparison to end of year data.
    • Incorporate weekly ESY themes into lessons, where appropriate.
    • Implement behavior plans and provide environmental and proactive behavioral supports as necessary.
    • Train teacher assistants on communication systems and communication related goals.
    • Provide the classroom teacher with input on teacher assistant evaluations.
    • Communicate with parents via communication books and weekly newsletters.
    • Organize and track student materials and communication devices/systems.
    • Attend weekly morning staff meetings.
    • Complete paperwork within the requested timeline.
    • Work collaboratively with team (Director, Assistant Director, Site Coordinator, Teacher, Teacher Assistants, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Vision etc).
    • Follow systems for safe supervision throughout the educational environment.
    • Complete educational summary of students progress on goals and experiences in ESY.

     

    Qualifications:

    Illinois Professional Educator License with Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement

     

    Compensation: Hourly Rate $49.98 - $77.74
