Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech and Language Pathologist to support our learners during our Extended School Year (ESY) program, which runs from June 29th to July 30th. The ESY Program will hold classes daily, Monday-Thursday depending on student needs, between 8 and 12 PM. The ESY program provides continuity of services for students with disabilities, helping them maintain the skills they’ve developed during the school year and preventing regression over the summer months. The ESY program supports students in a dynamic and engaging environment that includes both academic and life skills components, including social-emotional learning (SEL).

Preference will be given to candidates who are available for the full duration of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction and Support:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in both small group and one-on-one settings.
  • Implement individualized education programs (IEPs) with fidelity, ensuring students’ goals and objectives are addressed.
  • Consult with Special Education staff for goal alignment.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with a team of professionals, including special education teachers, OT, PT, Literacy specialists, and Mental Health providers, to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Communicate with parents and complete progress reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Provide individual and direct service to students
  • Connecticut Certification for Speech Language

Compensation will be at the hourly rate as defined by the Agreement between the Woodbridge Board of Education and the Woodbridge Education Association: $50/hr. In addition to the daily student contact time, each teacher will be compensated for 30 minutes of preparation time daily. We anticipate this position will require approximately 10 hours a week, including planning time, which can be done across either 3 or all 4 days depending on SLP preference.

Completed applications must include: a cover letter, plus current resume, three current letters of reference, proof of current certification (or statement indicating eligibility), and all college/university transcripts.
