Brightline is seeking a Graduate Strategy Intern – Student Ridership to support our Sales & Partnerships team in exploring opportunities to grow ridership among university students and faculty. This internship will focus on researching, evaluating, and developing a potential strategy for engaging various Florida universities as a meaningful ridership segment. The intern will analyze market opportunities, study industry and transportation trends, and help develop a strategic recommendation on whether and how Brightline could partner with universities to increase awareness and travel demand. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a high-visibility strategic initiative and present findings to senior commercial leadership.
Your Role: As the Graduate Strategy Intern, you will work closely with the Sales & Partnerships team to research and evaluate potential university partnership strategies. Responsibilities include:
- Conduct market and industry research on student travel behavior and transportation preferences
- Analyze potential university markets along the Brightline corridor and estimate ridership opportunities.
- Identify best practices and case studies of transportation partnerships with universities.
- Evaluate potential partnership models such as student travel programs, university agreements, campus promotions, or student discount initiatives.
- Analyze internal ridership data to identify existing student travel patterns and opportunities for growth
- Develop financial and ridership projections for potential university engagement strategies
- Support the creation of presentations and reports for senior leadership
- Deliver a final business case and strategic recommendation outlining whether and how Brightline should pursue university partnerships to increase ridership. The ideal candidate is a curious, analytical, and strategic thinker who is excited to explore real-world business questions and develop actionable insights.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an MBA or graduate-level business program
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience using PowerPoint to build clear and compelling executive presentations
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI is a plus
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights and recommendations
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Interest in transportation, mobility, or strategic partnerships is a plus
Internship Details
- Duration: Approximately 12-14 weeks
- Schedule: ~20 hours per week
- Compensation: $30 per hour
- Location: On-site at Brightline’s Downtown Miami headquarters (remote on Fridays)
