Job Duties
- Assist journeyman pipefitters or peers with the demolition, de-installation, rigging, fitting, and/or installation of equipment, supports, and pipe
- Proactively receive mentoring from a journeyman pipefitter or Supervisors
- Use hand and power tools with proper certification
- Over the four years of the apprenticeship, learn and apply knowledge of the following:
- Layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of piping systems
- Making and reading isometric drawings
- Reading construction plans and shop drawings for pipe systems
- Inspecting and testing piping systems
- Piping industry codes
- Maintain a good attendance record and comply with apprenticeship program requirements
- Maintain a record of on-the-job training and submit to apprenticeship program as required
- Other duties, as assigned
- Follow all safety rules and regulations
- Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), weekends, and holidays
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug/alcohol testing
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of construction experience is preferred
- OSHA 10 desired
- Favorable driver’s record/valid license desired
- Knowledge and acceptance of good health and safety principles and practices are desired
