Role: Care Worker - Extra Care

Location: Mary Barfield House, Rochester Way, Royston

Hours: 32 hours per week - A combination of morning and evening shifts and every other weekend working.

Pay Rate: £14.33

Herts at Home is a care provider working with Hertfordshire County Council, providing care for people living in their own homes in the community and also in independent living schemes (Extra Care) across the North Herts area.

About the Role

A little bit about the Role and Responsibilities

  • Providing support to older people as outlined in their care plans.

  • Moving and handling and using other techniques to provide more specialist support.

  • Helping people to express their wishes/preferences/like and dislikes.

  • Offering emotional support and encouragement.

  • Adhering to risk assessments and supporting people with behaviours that challenge.

  • Medication administration.

Am I the Right Person for the Job?

You are if you:

  • Have a passion for delivering high quality care to a wide variety of older people.

  • Are able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the people we support.

  • Are comfortable in assisting individuals with their personal care where this is required.

  • Experience as a care worker would be an advantage but is not essential as full training is provided. Therefore, we actively encourage applications from candidates with no previous experience.

  • Roles will encompass morning and evening shifts, weekday and weekend working. Some also include a sleep over shift. If you are unsure what this means, please call us - we will be happy to discuss it with you.

Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check before commencement of employment.
