Job Description
Job Title: Sr Analyst, OTC Cash Apps
Location: Bengaluru
Reporting to: Manager, OTC
Purpose of the role
The responsibility of the cash apps analysts is accurately applying customer payments to open accounts receivable, resolving unapplied cash, and supporting the overall order-to-cash process. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, improving cash flow, and ensuring timely reconciliation of customer accounts
Ensure the delivery of operational performance in GCC/Zones on agreed-upon SLAs and KPIs. Adhere fully to MICS and audit compliance. Drive month end closure activities for effective financial reportings.
Partner with teams to identify improvements in the process across the zones and drive the improvements where required
.
Key tasks & accountabilities
Reporting responsibility:
- Apply customer payments to accounts receivable accurately and timely
- Research and resolve unapplied, misapplied, or short-paid cash
- Reconcile daily cash receipts to bank statements and general ledger
- Investigate payment discrepancies and collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Billing, Credit, and Customer Service teams
- Maintain detailed documentation and audit trails for cash applications
- Process customer refunds and payment reversals when necessary with adequate approvals
- Support/perform month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and reporting
- Identify process improvements to increase automation and efficiency in cash application workflows
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and SOX requirements (if applicable)
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to customer payments
- Drive continuous improvements in line with targets
- Laise with collections team for remittance follow ups
- Meet KPI of cash application on time aligning with MICS
- Back up different countries scope of cash apps operations basis business continuity requirements
Qualifications, Experience, Skills
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor or University degree in accounting – preferred (Accounting or Finance)
PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or related finance roles
- Experience in working with SAP/ERP
- Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.);
- Experience in working in a multi-national environment is a plus
- Experience in working in a process-oriented organization is a plus
- Shared Services experience is a plus
- Ability to analyze complex accounting data
SKILLS
- Fluent in English - able to read, write and communicate effectively.
- Understanding of financial concepts and transactions
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work on own initiative and prioritize workload effectively
- Ability to troubleshoot problems for others
- Ability to coordinate the development of report documentation
- IT skills required – Microrosft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and S4Hana
