POSITION SUMMARY: MUST HAVE OPEN AVAILABILITY

A restaurant server takes orders, answers questions about the menu and food, sells the restaurant's food and drinks, takes payment, communicates orders with the kitchen staff, seats customers, and helps with customer service and cleaning. While no job description can possibly provide a comprehensive list of job duties, the following is a summary of the major responsibilities for the position.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide excellent customer services.

  • Greet customers and present menus.

  • Make suggestions based on their preferences.

  • Take and serve food/drinks orders.

  • Up-sell.

  • Arrange table settings.

  • Keep tables clean and tidy at all times.

  • Deliver checks and collect payments.

  • Assist with side work as instructed at the bar and restaurant.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

Experience: 1-2 years server experience.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of food service regulations.

  • Ability to carry more than two plates at a time.

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Flexible with availability.

  • Possess basic math skills.

  • Possess strong customer service skills.

  • Ability to resolve conflict.

  • Teamwork.
