Title: ERM Specialist
Position Status – Full Time – non-exempt (Hourly)

Pay information: $21.10 - $26.37 per hour

The Enterprise Risk Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the risk management framework within the credit union, with a strong focus on vendor management, compliance with regulatory guidelines, and ensuring effective business continuity. This role will require collaboration with internal teams, external vendors, and regulatory examiners to mitigate risks and support the credit union’s overall risk management strategy..

- As assigned, identify and analyze risks associated with credit union operations and report findings to SVP.
- Stay updated on interagency guidance and regulations, ensuring that the credit union’s policies align with best practices and legal requirements.
- As needed, Work closely with regulatory examiners, providing requested documentation and clarifications to ensure smooth examination processes.
- Periodically review the capabilities and effectiveness of the vendor management software, ensuring it meets the credit union’s needs and compliance requirements, and recommending changes or enhancements when appropriate.
- Follow established protocol and procedures to conduct assessments for potential and existing vendors to evaluate their impact on credit union operations and compliance.
- Utilize vendor management software to track and manage vendor documents and ensure receipt of timely updated documents as required; Remind internal stakeholders when contract end dates, automatic renewals, or contract decisions need to be reviewed.
- Maintain a record of up-to-date vendor contacts for active vendors and a record of the internal stakeholder who manages the vender relationship for a specific department.
- As required of the role, Foster strong relationships with vendors to ensure a mutual understanding of risk management practices and compliance expectations.
- Update and maintain the credit union’s risk management policies and procedures manual to ensure relevance and compliance.
- Administer updates and modifications to the business continuity program, ensuring it remains effective and applicable to current business needs.
- Execute ongoing monitoring and compliance activities related to BSA/AML, Patriot Act, and OFAC regulations using BSA software applications.
- Ensure proper documentation of BSA/AML compliance efforts and collaborate with compliance officers to report findings to relevant stakeholders
- As needed, serve on project committees as the departmental liaison or serve as the departmental resource for ERM projects; Assist with implementation and ongoing support of software of applications that the department deploys to improve the risk management capabilities of the credit union.
- As needed, work in collaboration with the training and development area to ensure the accuracy of compliance related training.
- Maintain positive and productive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills in all work activities.
- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritizes daily work to meet deadlines and goals
- Attend ongoing training as needed, including on and off-site workshops and webinars to maintain a high level of knowledge related to the position.
- Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.
- The ability to travel overnight or to other business locations less than 5%.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports. May manage day-to-day tasks through indirect reporting relationships or through a matrixed management approach and the ability to collaboratively interact with internal and external partners.

REQUIRED Education and/or Experience:
- An associate degree in business management, Business Administration, or related field of study or 2 years of additional specific work experience in lieu of degree
- 2 plus years of transactional work experience in banking, financial services, or a credit union
- Prior work experience where an understanding of risk was required
- 10-Key calculator, typing and keying skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
PREFFERED Education and/or Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in business management, Business Administration, or related field of study
- 3 years of specific enterprise risk management experience in bank or credit union
- Working knowledge of vendor management software (such as Venminder, Gatekeeper, Vanta, etc.)
- Prior experience completing transactions in Symitar, and Meridian Link
- Working knowledge fraud prevention processes
Physical Job Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 5 to 25 pounds.
