Are you someone that views dining as a vital part of how we support comfort, familiarity, dignity, and well-being for residents living with dementia? If so, Viva’s Memory Care at Dresher is looking for YOU to lead the heart and soul of our community’s kitchen.


Viva Memory Care at Dresher is seeking an experienced and compassionate Dining Director to lead our culinary services within our dedicated memory care community. This role is essential to supporting resident dignity, comfort, and quality of life through thoughtful, consistent, and dementia-informed dining experiences.


The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who values hospitality, compliance, teamwork, and person-centered care.


What You’ll Do: 

· Direct all dining services operations for Viva Memory Care at Dresher, including food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and safety.

· Create and implement nutritious, dementia-friendly menus that meet resident preferences, physician-ordered diets, and regulatory requirements.

· Oversee food purchasing, inventory control, and food cost management while maintaining high quality standards.

· Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and support the dining services team, fostering a respectful and collaborative work environment.

· Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including Department of Health, sanitation, and food safety standards.

· Work closely with Nursing, Care, and Life Enrichment teams to support individualized dining needs and enhance resident engagement.

· Provide consistent execution of therapeutic diets, modified textures, and specialized nutritional needs.

· Plan and execute holiday meals, themed dining experiences, and special events appropriate for a memory care setting.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and dining environment at all times.

· Participate in inspections, audits, and survey readiness related to dietary services.

Requirements

· Minimum 3–5 years of food service leadership experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or memory care.

· Prior supervisory or management experience required.

· Experience with or strong understanding of memory care and dementia-friendly dining practices preferred.

· Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, infection control, and regulatory compliance.

· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· Ability to lead with patience, empathy, professionalism, and accountability.

· Culinary degree, ServSafe certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
