Position Summary:
The Activities Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of engaging recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in a skilled nursing facility. This role helps enhance residents’ quality of life by promoting social interaction, physical activity, and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in organizing and leading daily activity programs, including group and one-on-one activities
Encourage resident participation and engagement in scheduled programs
Support special events, outings, and holiday celebrations
Help transport residents to and from activities as needed
Maintain activity supplies and assist with setting up and cleaning up events
Document resident participation and attendance
Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to appropriate staff
Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
Ensure activities are appropriate to residents’ abilities and interests
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must have active KY CNA or KMA license.
Previous experience in activities, recreation, or healthcare preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personality
Ability to work well with elderly populations and individuals with cognitive impairments
Salary/ Wage Range
Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
