Now Hiring: Activities Assistant for Dementia Care unit

Hartland Park Health & Rehabilitation | Lexington, Kentucky
Full-time Monday-Friday 11:30am-8pm


Position Summary:
The Activities Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of engaging recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in a skilled nursing facility. This role helps enhance residents’ quality of life by promoting social interaction, physical activity, and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in organizing and leading daily activity programs, including group and one-on-one activities

  • Encourage resident participation and engagement in scheduled programs

  • Support special events, outings, and holiday celebrations

  • Help transport residents to and from activities as needed

  • Maintain activity supplies and assist with setting up and cleaning up events

  • Document resident participation and attendance

  • Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to appropriate staff

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents

  • Ensure activities are appropriate to residents’ abilities and interests

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Must have active KY CNA or KMA license.

  • Previous experience in activities, recreation, or healthcare preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personality

  • Ability to work well with elderly populations and individuals with cognitive impairments

Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
