    THE FOLLOWING POSITION IS ANTICIPATED FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

    Fox Chapel Area School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Middle School Athletic Trainer for the 2026-2027 school year to provide athletic health services for interscholastic programs during the fall, winter and spring sports seasons. This part-time position runs from approximately August 1 to May 15, with an average of 20–25 hours per week. The Athletic Trainer will report to the Athletic Director and Head Athletic Trainer, providing essential support for student-athletes, parents, and coaches. This position will be a purchase of service agreement.  
     


    Key Responsibilities:
    •      Provide home contest coverage for middle school athletic events and assist at high school events as needed. Coverage will be determined collaboratively based on the risk level of sports and availability.
    •      Ensure the prevention, immediate care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries through protective measures, treatment, and collaboration with team/school physicians.
    •      Develop and supervise injury rehabilitation programs under the direction of a referring physician.
    •      Advise coaches on flexibility, strength, and conditioning programs to prevent injuries and optimize athlete performance.
    •      Maintain accurate medical records related to injuries, treatments, rehabilitation, and compliance with Title IX requirements.
    •      Assist in pre-participation physical examinations and coordinate preseason ImPACT testing.
    •      Provide counseling and advice to athletes regarding health, nutrition, and substance abuse issues.
    •      Collaborate with coaches, parents, and physicians to ensure effective communication regarding athlete care.
    •      Assist with teaching First Aid Certification for coaches or district personnel as needed.
      


    Qualifications:
    •      National Certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC).
    •      Licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
    •      CPR Certification and Heartsaver First Aid-Instructor Certification.
    •      Compliance with Child Protective Services Law, including:
    •      Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check
    •      Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
    •      FBI Clearance
      


    Additional Requirements:
    •      Availability to cover Monday through Friday practices and occasional Saturday events as well as the possibility for some holiday hours.
    •      Ability, on an as needed basis, to provide coverage at the high school level.
    •      Commitment to continuing education to maintain professional licensure and certifications.
    •      Support for non-school events on a per diem basis as approved by the Athletic Director and Head Athletic Trainer.
