We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineering / Design Manager to join our Auckland team.

Reporting to our Technical Services Director as a member of our extended leadership team, you'll be someone who thrives in multidisciplinary environments and is excited by the opportunity to influence how engineering delivery evolves across Aotearoa. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead high-impact projects across a variety of sectors, helping us drive innovation, embrace new technologies, and redefine how we deliver work. You’ll drive high-quality, future-focused solutions for our clients while strengthening our technical capability and strategic partnerships nationwide.

Who We Are

Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts headquartered in Australia.

Right now, we’re bridging two worlds as we accelerate to more sustainable energy sources, while helping our customers provide the solutions that society needs now. We partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their portfolio of assets.

In New Zealand we have six offices spread across the country and we work for a diverse range of customers focused on the energy, water and industrial sectors. From the first stages of engineering and consulting to the last stages of installation and commissioning, we bring together local experience with global expertise to deliver solutions that meet our customers’ needs.

This is a chance to join a growing, future-focused business and be part of a team genuinely committed to delivering sustainable change.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide technical leadership to multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver consistent and cost-effective engineering solutions
  • Champion safe and sustainable delivery across all stages of the project lifecycle
  • Own the engineering plan and execution, ensuring scope, cost, schedule and quality requirements are met
  • Support teams to develop practical, well-considered engineering solutions that meet client and project needs
  • Embed digital tools and smarter ways of working to enhance quality, efficiency and predictability
  • Work closely with clients, regulatory bodies, and delivery partners to support successful project outcomes
  • Coach and develop engineers to build capability and achieve high performance
  • Contribute to proposals and strategic growth opportunities

What You’ll Have

  • A recognised engineering degree and a career progression from a discipline engineer to leading multidisciplinary engineering delivery on complex projects
  • A strong understanding of the New Zealand engineering and contracting market. Experience in the water sector is preferred
  • A practical, solution-focused mindset
  • Proven brownfield project experience with the confidence to engage deeply across all engineering disciplines
  • A track record of presenting high-quality, commercially aligned solutions
  • The ability to build trusted and valued relationships with clients, partners and colleagues across the wider Worley network
  • A people-focused leadership style with the ability to coach, mentor and motivate teams to achieve high-performing outcomes

Why You Should Apply

  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Work on nationally significant projects shaping Aotearoa’s energy and infrastructure landscape
  • Competitive remuneration and employee benefits
  • A varied and challenging role
  • Ability to purchase additional leave
  • 22 weeks gender-neutral paid parental leave for primary carers
  • Supportive team culture built on respect, safety and open communication
  • Access to our global online learning platform
