We are seeking an ETL QA Lead with strong experience in data warehousing, ETL testing, and Snowflake to lead quality assurance for enterprise data platforms. The role involves defining test strategy, validating data pipelines, and ensuring high data quality, integrity, and reliability across end-to-end data flows.
The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in ETL/ELT testing, SQL validation, data reconciliation, and Snowflake-based data platforms, along with experience leading QA teams and driving data quality governance.
Key responsibilities
- Define and lead ETL testing strategy, test planning, and execution for data pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
- Validate data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes across multiple source and target systems.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks using SQL and automation frameworks.
- Lead testing for Snowflake-based data platforms, including staging, transformation, and reporting layers.
- Ensure accuracy of data mappings, business rules, aggregations, and transformations.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and define QA coverage.
- Implement and enhance test automation for ETL workflows using tools such as QuerySurge, Python, or custom frameworks.
- Perform API testing, file validation, and batch/real-time data testing where applicable.
- Manage defect lifecycle, root cause analysis, and quality reporting.
- Mentor QA team members and ensure adherence to QA best practices and standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement in data quality processes.
Technical Skills
Skills requirements
- 7–9 years of experience in ETL / Data Warehouse Testing / Data QA.
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
- Expertise in SQL for data validation and complex query writing.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data pipelines, and data warehousing.
- Experience in data reconciliation, data profiling, and data quality validation.
- Experience with test automation tools such as QuerySurge, Selenium (for UI validation if needed), or Python-based frameworks.
- Familiarity with data integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, ADF, or similar.
- Experience in API testing and validation of data interfaces.
- Knowledge of Agile / Scrum delivery model.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Preferred skills
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS).
- Exposure to big data technologies (Databricks, Spark, etc.).
- Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and metadata management.
- Experience in domains such as Life Sciences, Healthcare.
