Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Excavator Operator with experience handling heavy machinery. This role offers the unique opportunity to expand your trade knowledge by training in plumbing work alongside excavation tasks. Ideal for someone looking to broaden their skill set and grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators and other heavy machinery (e.g., backhoes, skid steers) safely and efficiently
• Perform site prep, trenching, grading, and backfilling
• Work closely with plumbing crews to assist with underground utility and pipe installations
• Learn plumbing trade skills including pipe fitting, layout, and repairs
• Maintain and inspect equipment daily for safe operation
• Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all site regulations

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience operating heavy machinery, particularly excavators
• Strong understanding of excavation practices and job site safety
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
• Willingness to learn plumbing trade (no experience required – training provided)
• Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks in various weather conditions
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and team mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

• OSHA 10/30 certification
• Experience on residential or commercial job sites
• Basic knowledge of plumbing systems (a plus, not required)
