We are seeking a Summer Student in Chemical Engineering who has completed at least the second year of their engineering degree. This role is ideal for students eager to learn what it looks like to work in a professional engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Do
As a Summer Student, you will support engineering and project teams by assisting with basic technical tasks, documentation, and day-to-day project activities.

Technical Support
  • Assist engineers by gathering data, organizing information, and preparing simple calculations under guidance
  • Help update, format, and quality-check engineering documents and spreadsheets
  • Support basic equipment or process research and compile technical summaries
  • Participate in simple engineering tasks appropriate for your academic level (e.g., mass balance checks, property lookups, equipment list updates)
Collaboration & Project Execution
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, designers, and project managers
  • Support coordination of vendor information and basic technical inquiries
Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Support documentation for safety reviews or quality checks (note taking, action tracking, etc.)
  • Assist with organizing and checking project files so they meet company requirements.
Technical Exposure
  • During your summer work term, you will gain awareness and introductory experience with systems and projects such as:
  • Natural gas processing and related facility equipment
  • Oil processing, including basic treating and stabilization concepts
  • Utility systems and power generation fundamentals
  • Brownfield modification projects
  • Emerging energy and carbon-related projects

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

About You
You are an enthusiastic and motivated student interested in learning how chemical engineering concepts apply in industry. You bring:
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Completion of at least 2nd year prior to the work term
  • An interest in process engineering and industrial facilities
  • Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions, and support a variety of tasks
