Warehouse Technician







Location:
Albany, GA







Kalman & Company, Inc. is seeking Warehouse Technicians to process shipments and support mission requirements for our government client in Albany, GA. The salary range for this position is $29,120K-$32,240K/year. Previous applicants are encouraged to reapply.

Schedule: Mon � Th, 7:00 AM � 4:30 PM, Fri, 7:00 AM � 3:30 PM; Every other Friday off

The Warehouse Technician supports efficient, safe, and accurate movement, storage, processing and documentation of materials throughout the facility. The technician upholds quality standards, safety policies, and service-level commitments to the client.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Receiving

  • Process inbound shipments
  • Verify bills of lading
  • Moving and storing shipments
  • Updating database

Documentation

  • Complete inventory reports, discrepancy notices and other documents as needed
  • Enter data into software
  • Process material request documents for accurate stock replenishment

Delivery/Logistics

  • Coordinate with internal departments for asset transfer
  • Transport shipment to predetermined locations

Inventory Management

  • Receive and verify quantity and quality of assets
  • Update Warehouse Management System (WMS) database
  • Conduct cycle counts
  • Track inventory levels and reporting discrepancies
  • Replenish inventory and stock shelves

Warehouse Maintenance Systems (WMS) and Data Entry

    • Execute accurate transactions (receive/repair/process/saw/shred)
    • Maintain digital and physical logs, labels, and audit trails
    • Use computer applications (EMS, JACKS, FEDLOG, ILS-S) handhelds/RF scanners; escalate system issues

Equipment Operation & Maintenance

  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment (MHE)
  • Conduct inspections; report defects; perform basic preventive tasks
  • Validate shipment tri-wall inventory and move to section/processing lane
  • Follow equipment certification requirements and safety/speed/traffic rules

Safety and Compliance

  • Keeping the facility clean, organized, stocked and free of hazards
  • Adhere to OSHA and site safety rules, Lockout/Tagout, (LOTO), safe lifting, hazard communication)
  • Comply with regulatory frameworks as applicable (e.g., DOT/IATA for hazmat, FDA/GMP, ISO 9001/13485)

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One + year of warehouse/logistics operations experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets) and scanners
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally, perform basic math, read, write and comprehend work instructions in English
  • Forklift and/or MHE certification (or ability to obtain if required)
  • Strong attention to detail

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Stand/walk for extended periods; lift/push/pull up to [50 lbs./23 kg] with/without assistance.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, climbing ladders; ability to operate MHE at heights (order picker).
  • Work in variable temperatures; noise and dust typical of warehouses.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (e.g., safety shoes, hi-vis, gloves, eye protection).
