The Culinary Supervisor must have understanding of kitchen operations within the hotel and be able to supervise the Banquets and Restaurant kitchens.  The Supervisor is responsible for producing a consistent, quality product that meets and exceeds the guest's needs in a timely manner while supervising the hourly cooks in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.  Our Culinary Supervisor has basic skills in department training and is capable of assuming department responsibilities in the absence of a Sous Chef.  Skills and knowledge to include:

·         Basic cost control understanding

·         Culinary leadership skills

·         Proficiency in computer skills 

·         Monitoring and processing payroll costs and overtime

·         Knowledge of ordering and working with the Purchasing team to fulfill needed requisitions 

·         Resourceful, able to make decisions thoughtfully and promptly

The hourly rate range for this position is $32.70/hour to $33.35/hour. The starting rate is $32.70/hour. This position also has an established rate for colleagues who have remained in the Culinary Supervisor position with Hyatt for four years or more, which is currently offered at $33.35/hour.

  • (4) years of previous line experience preferred, in banquet and restaurant kitchens
  • Culinary leadership experience preferred
  • Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred
  • Experience in high-volume kitchens, including fine dining and/or From Scratch cooking
  • Candidates should be able to perform all basic, intermediate, and advanced cooking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, while standing/walking for long periods of time
  • Ability to work multiple stations in the kitchen
  • Ability to lift/push/pull a moderate amount of weight
  • Strong communication skills
  • Open schedule flexibility to include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays required
  • Understanding of food safety standards
  • Must have Food Handler’s Card
