About the role – Compliance Lead

Aviva is looking for an experienced Compliance Lead to play a key role in strengthening our compliance, risk, data protection and operational resilience frameworks. This is a second line of defence role with real influence - you will work closely with senior leaders, Management Board and Group stakeholders, providing independent oversight, challenge and guidance across the organisation.

You will have a broad, strategic scope covering GDPR, data governance, third‑party risk and operational resilience, with a real opportunity to shape how Aviva manages operational risk, protects company’s data and builds long‑term trust in a growing international business.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing second line of defence oversight across compliance, risk, data protection and operational resilience

  • Ensuring compliance with Aviva Group standards, GDPR and regulatory requirements

  • Overseeing data governance, personal data protection and third‑party compliance, including escalation of material risks and non‑compliances

  • Coordinating risk management, compliance reviews and annual attestations

  • Leading business continuity and operational resilience activities, including BIAs, scenario testing and crisis preparedness

  • Preparing clear, high‑quality reports for the Management Board and Committees

  • Building a strong compliance culture through guidance, training and effective stakeholder collaboration

What we’re looking for?

  • Strong, hands‑on experience in compliance, risk management and data protection (GDPR) within a regulated environment

  • Proven ability to operate as a trusted second line of defence, providing independent challenge and senior‑level insight

  • Experience working cross‑functionally with senior leaders, IT, Cyber Security, Legal and external vendors

  • Confidence in assessing risks, making sound judgments and influencing decision‑makers

  • University degree in a relevant field; professional certifications (e.g. CCO, CRM, CIPP/E) are a strong advantage

  • English at C1 level
