The firm is seeking a family law attorney in the Northen Virginian area with litigation experience, excellent people skills, and the emotional intelligence to manage and meet the legal, and emotional needs of family law clients. Ideal candidates should possess family law and litigation experience handling the following types of family law cases:

• Divorce
• Adoption
• Custody & Visitation
• Child & Spousal Support

Job Responsibilities

- Conduct legal research and analysis to inform case strategy and prepare legal documents

- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests

- File necessary legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests

- Litigate cases in court, including trial and appeals

- Manage and maintain accurate case records and files

- Utilize Lexis-Nexis and other legal databases to stay current with changing laws and regulations

- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and court orders

- Provide excellent customer service to clients and respond promptly to their inquiries

- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel

Qualifications

- Licensed in Virginia

- Strong foundation in legal research using Lexis-Nexis and / or Westlaw

- Proficient in drafting legal documents and conducting thorough legal analysis

- Experience in family law and litigation

- Familiarity with estate planning and/or veteran benefits is a plus

- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail

- Legal administrative experience is preferred
