    Position Title: Substitute Teacher

    Reports to: Building Principal

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt - Daily

    Start Date: Fall 2025

    Job Summary: Educate, plan, teach, facilitate and evaluate the students of GFW Public Schools in the educational process as defined by local and state department regulations and guidelines in a substitute capacity.

     


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

     

    Classroom Environment

     
    • Create an environment of respect and rapport

    • Establish a culture for learning

    • Manage classroom procedures

    • Manage student behavior

    • Organize physical space

     

    Instructional Interaction

     
    • Communicate clearly and accurately

    • Use questioning and discussion techniques

    • Engage students in learning

    • Provide feedback to students

    • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness

     

    Other duties as assigned

     


    Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

    Qualification Requirements:

     
    • Degree: 

       
      • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Education or relevant instructional subject area

    • License: 

       
      • Licensed teachers in the State of MN with appropriate licensure for assigned areas of responsibility and/or short-call or lifetime substitute teaching license or proof of pending approved licensure
    • Experience: 

       
      • No experience required

    WagesThe daily pay rate is $145.00 per day with an increase to $155.00 per day after 11 days worked.
