Description:
The South Brunswick School District seeks a student-centered Elementary Music Teacher for a full-year leave replacement during the 2026�2027 school year. The successful candidate will deliver engaging general music instruction aligned to state standards and foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students can develop foundational musical skills.
Responsibilities include teaching general music across grade levels, leading basic choral and instrumental experiences, and providing occasional small-group instruction as needed. The position supports a well-established program, and we are seeking a dependable educator who can maintain continuity of instruction while contributing to a positive and musically meaningful learning experience for students.

General Music

• 3rd-5th Grade General Music

Choral Ensembles

• 3rd Grade Choir
• 4th/5th Grade Choir

Instrumental Music

• Beginning Orchestra
• Advanced Orchestra
• Small-group instrumental string lessons

Additional Responsibilities

• Rehearsing and conducting winter and spring concerts
• Planning engaging, standards-aligned lessons
• Assessing student progress and maintaining grading records
• Collaborating with colleagues and supporting school-wide music initiatives

Qualifications:
NJ Teacher of Music Certification and/or substitute certification.

2026 � 2027 Terms of Employment: 
Yearly Base Salary:  $67,380.00 � 70,580.00
Employment Period:  9/1/2026 - 6/30/2027
Union Affiliation:  SBEA
