Job summary
The Ramp Agent Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of ground support equipment (GSE), aircraft servicing vehicles, and personnel across the airport ramp area. This role supports aircraft turnaround operations by ensuring the timely transport of equipment, baggage, cargo, and supplies while maintaining strict adherence to safety, security, and operational procedures.
This position operates in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive airport environment and requires flexibility to work in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles and ground support equipment (e.g., tugs, belt loaders, bag carts, vans) in a safe and efficient manner on the ramp.
- Transport baggage, cargo, mail, and operational supplies between aircraft, terminals, and designated airport locations.
- Support aircraft turnaround operations to ensure on-time departures and arrivals.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of vehicles and equipment; report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Follow all airport, airline, and company safety and security procedures at all times.
- Maintain situational awareness in a high-traffic ramp environment, avoiding hazards and ensuring safe distances from aircraft.
- Assist with loading and unloading baggage and cargo when required.
- Communicate effectively with ramp agents, supervisors, and operations teams via radio or other communication tools.
- Adhere to all driving regulations specific to airside operations.
- Ensure compliance with TSA, airport authority, and company policies.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
- Ability to obtain and maintain airport security badge (background check required, typically up to 10 years).
- Previous ramp, warehouse, or driving experience preferred but not required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.

- Ability to operate vehicles in tight spaces and high-traffic environments.
- Reliable and punctual with strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills in English (verbal and written)
Physical requirement
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work outdoors for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, wind).
Work Environment
- Outdoor airport ramp environment with exposure to noise, moving vehicles, aircraft, and varying weather conditions.
- Requires flexibility to work shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 operation.
