    Tennis � Assistant Boys Coach � High School

     

    Primary Purpose

    Coffeyville School District, No. 445, is currently accepting applications for a high school Assistant Boys Tennis coaching position. The position would be part of the tennis program at Field Kindley High School and would report to the Head Boys Tennis Coach, Athletic/Activities Director and/or the building Principal.  For additional information or questions, please contact the high school athletic office at 620-252-6410.

     

    Qualifications Profile

    • Experience as a tennis participant required.
    • Experience coaching tennis is preferred
    • TB Skin Test/Physical completed and on file
    • Ability to pass a background check
    • Valid driver's license or state issued ID

     

    Essential Job Functions

    • Reports all major concerns to the head coach.
    • Assists the head coach with all responsibilities including practices, games, and off-season development.
    • Documents and submits all major records and information as directed by the head coach.
    • Assists the head coach in the development of each individual player and the program
    • Assists in supervising athletes during practices, games, and other events

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation by the entire staff of the sports program.
    • Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements same consistently and interprets them for staff.
    • Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.
    • Follows established procedures set by the school board and KSHSAA
    • Coordinate and help supervise the program and team under the head coach's supervision.
    • Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
    • Support and promote the training program by the head coach
    • Communicate effectively with all members of the school district and community.
    • Work effectively with booster clubs and other community organizations.
    • React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
    • Support the philosophy and vision of U.S.D. 445.

     

    Physical Requirement/Mental Demands/Environmental Conditions

    • Requires the ability to maintain emotional control while under stress and in stressful situations.
    • Requires the ability to frequently stand for prolonged periods of time.
    • Requires the ability to walk frequently.
    • Requires the ability to frequently kneel/squat, bend/stoop, push/pull, twist, or reach.
    • Be able to lift repeatedly 25 lbs. with ability to lift 50 lbs. at different times.  Ability to carry, load and unload items as needed.
    • Work environment consists of the activity location, including outside practice and event fields.  Some work done inside in coaching offices and training rooms/locker rooms.  Outside locations will vary in conditions including temperature and humidity
    • Constant student/staff and parent interactions when emotions are high and stressful such as at practices and game days.

     

    Equipment

    Equipment involved with the sport of tennis including possible tennis machines.

     

    Travel Requirements

    • Travel to other communities/cities for competitions.
    • Travel to and from school to practice facilities.

     

    FLSA Status:  Nonexempt
