Job Description
BAE Systems, Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer that is well-versed in Modeling and Simulation techniques. In this position, the candidate is expected to support our Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System (APKWS) portfolio of development projects.
The selected candidate will:
Work with subject matter experts assisting in the next generation of precision guidance solutions for our diverse customer base using 6-Degree of Freedom munition simulators and an assortment of MATLAB and Python-based toolsets.
Support business and engineering leadership to help grow the PGSS product line by applying BAE Systems’ broad technology base to fill real gaps that Department of War customers have in smart weapons.
Take on additional general systems engineering tasks, having a strong desire to develop their skills in the systems engineering discipline.
This role requires the candidate to be an outgoing, well-connected, self-starter with a desire to grow the organization.
Our engineers are members of cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams focused on developing cost-effective systems that meet the needs of our customers. Candidates should be comfortable working with teams of all sizes and enjoy a mix of creative design work, mentoring the next generation of protégés, developing White Papers, presenting internally and externally, and leading test events.
It is anticipated that the candidate may fulfil the requirements for this position in a hybrid work environment, with a minimum of 50% on-site participation.

- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Knowledge of basic programming fundamentals
- Experience in modeling and simulation techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, senior leadership, and other engineering disciplines
- Ability to perform technical reviews of guided munitions design
Preferred Skills and Education
- Ability to understand Concept of Operations (CONOPS) for missile systems
- Experience with software languages such as MATLAB, Python and C/C++
- Experience working with 6 Degree-of-Freedom simulators
- Exposure to the development, integration, test, qualification and production of Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground and Ground-to-Ground Missiles, Guided Projectiles and Glide Weapon Systems
- Ability to develop requirements in response to customer operational needs
- Experience with missile systems and guided projectiles
