Conducts synchronous online classes using Schoology and Zoom to facilitate learning in a virtual setting that combines direct teacher instruction and computer-based lessons and activities; maintains office hours to support students each day; utilizes best practices in teaching to achieve curriculum goals; follows pre-designed lessons, activities, and maintains appropriate pacing; administers in-person midterm and final exams and proctors SOL tests as appropriate; maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, and policy. Participation in teacher training is mandatory and will be provided prior to and during the program.

Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education in the assigned discipline, with experience in teaching English 10-12 curriculum. Online teaching experience or completion of the FCPS Academy ?Online Teaching? course, preferred. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.
