The Role

ALS Environmental in Newcastle is seeking a full time Sample Receipt Officer for our dedicated Sample Receipt team.

We are committed to exceeding client expectations and need someone with the same dedication to superior service to join our team. We are a busy branch, but we are willing to provide all the training required to someone who is willing and ready to learn. The ideal candidate will have some customer service experience, be confident and courteous and ready to get their hands dirty.

Shifts will be Monday to Friday from 10:15 to 6:30pm.

The day to day

  • Receiving, sorting, and registering samples and recording analysis requirements

  • Answering phones and emails and greeting clients in person

  • Liaising with clients regarding sample submissions and related queries

  • Packing, labelling, and distributing samples

  • Maintaining sample storage and disposal by following safe work practices

The essentials

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Positive and responsive with a customer focus to deliver professional and quality service.

  • Superior attention to detail and a commitment to high quality work

  • Strong computer skills including MS Office suite

  • Ability to process multiple concurrent requests efficiently and accurately

  • An understanding of laboratory safety and chemical hazards would be beneficial but not critical

  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to learn and retain high levels of information
