Ministry Description 

Position Overview 

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will incorporate diverse texts that reflect a variety of perspectives, cultures, and literary traditions to engage students and broaden their understanding of the world through literature. The candidate will promote strong writing skills through effective teaching strategies, fostering students’ ability to think critically and express themselves clearly. This position will be responsible for teaching 3 American Literature classes and 3 Faith 1 courses.

  • Demonstrates a heart for Jesus Christ:  “I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”   I Corinthians 2:2
  • Demonstrates personal character:  “In everything, set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech…” Titus 2:7-8
  • Demonstrates passion for excellence worthy of Christ:  “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…” Colossians 3:23
  • Exemplifies a Christ-like attitude in both written and verbal communication

Essential Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
● Possesses exemplary decision making and problem solving skills
● Proficient with Google products; specifically but not limited to: Docs, Forms, Sheets, Slides, etc. as
well as the ability to learn, use Crusader Connect (school Admin software and learning
management system)
● Will incorporate, understand, and utilize technology
● Effectively and appropriately collaborate with faculty, staff members, and the Administrative Team
● Model professionalism through attire, punctual attendance, behavior, and safety

● Model a Gospel-centered approach in day-to-day relationships with students, faculty, staff
members, and parents
The Positional Responsibilities
● Develops and administers Faith Lutheran’s English & Theology curriculum consistent with school
mission and goals.
● Fosters a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration
and respect of others.
● Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning
experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
● Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and accurately records scores for analysis.
● Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational
field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings.
● Organizes and maintains Crusader Connect for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading,
and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance.
● Ensures parental involvement in students' education with effective communication. Emails should
have a 24 hour response time.
● Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school handbook, and
establishes and maintains standards of behavior needed to achieve a functional learning
atmosphere in the classroom.
● Coordinates with other faculty members & administrators, especially within grade level, to evaluate
and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in Education, Secondary English, or other related field.
● Valid or eligible for a Nevada teaching license in Education.
● Lutheran Teaching Diploma required.
● Commitment to fostering a Christ-centered environment where students grow physically, mentally,
and spiritually.

The full-time teacher position is for High School English/ Theology Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
